The Sun Country Health Region will be reducing emergency services during the evening hours at the Kipling Memorial Hospital until July 9. Due to a nursing shortage, the health region has reduced the emergency department to the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.

Fair-goers hang on tight, as they spin around-and-around in one of the rides at the Weyburn Fair. The Weyburn Fair was held on June 30, July 1 and July 2 at the Exhibition Grounds.

The Ogema Agricultural Society will be marking their 100th year as an organization, as they host their annual summer fair on Saturday, July 5, followed by the Deep South Museum Day on Sunday, July 6.

Graham DeLaet, along with members of the U.S. and International President's Cup teams, met with President Barack Obama at the White House on June 24.

Entries are being sought for the fifth annual Legacy Golf Tournament, which will be held at the Weyburn Golf Club on Saturday, July 12. Many entries have already been received, so interested golfers are encouraged to contact Elmer Franks to register.

Weyburn city council gave final approval for rezoning for one subdivision development, and gave first reading for another development which will allow for a new hotel on Highway 13 east, and high-density residential development.

The Weyburn Police Services had a busy weekend, as they responded to complaints of impaired driving, noise complaints, and domesticated situations. On Friday, police received a complaint about an intoxicated male that entered an apartment building.

The family and friends of Shania Spencer are organizing a fundraising garage sale, to help the family with expenses related to medical treatment the 17-year-old must undergo this summer in Saskatoon.

Regina "Rachel" Wawro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the age of 98 years.
