The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute is excited to announce the 12th annual Bicycle Safety Week in Saskatchewan - 'Biking through a Safe Summer' May 12 - 18, 2014.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School will be holding their Awards Night along with an Art Show, featuring student's work from the last year on Tuesday, May 13.

Abbi Kenway cuddles Stewie, the last of a litter of kittens that the Weyburn Humane Society received earlier in the year. Stewie is nine weeks old and is up to date with his vaccinations and is dewormed.

Members of Crocus Quilters of Weyburn are busy preparing for their Spring Bouquet of Quilts V which will take place May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. and May 10, 10 to 4 p.m. at the Weyburn Curling Rink.

Weyburn Junior High students Kate Gibbs and Emma Von Hagen help rake up grass, leaves and pine cones as they clean up the courtyard area at the Weyburn Special Care Home on Thursday.

The Wheatland Senior Centre holds weekly activities. The results of the senior centre activities from April 27 to May 3 are: Monday's Bridge play saw first place go to Jim Brown, with second to Basil Holyer, and third place to Jean Janoski.

The City of Weyburn has hired two new senior management employees. After an extensive nation-wide search, the city has named Sean Abram, P.Eng., FEC to the position of director of engineering.

Although they live in the same house, this artsy couple use very different mediums. Jaynie and Max Himsl are Art Farm board members, called articulturists, and will be displaying their very different art work at Art Farm on June 14.

The fifth annual Redvers and District Oil Showcase will be hosted on Thursday and Friday, May 8 to 9. An industry event such as the Redvers and District Oil Showcase allows professionals much needed one-on-one networking opportunities.
