Warm weather has helped to speed crop development during the past few days. However, warm conditions will be needed into the harvest season to advance crops. Crop development is 10 days to two weeks behind normal in many areas.

The Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) will once again offer seniors the opportunity to explore Saskatchewan at a great price.

The boardwalk extends along the Souris River from Third Street to the Soo Line Historical Museum. After the pavement is finished, lights will be installed and other landscaping lining the pathway will be completed.

Weyburn Mayor Debra Button today announced that the City has successfully negotiated a new contract with the members of the Weyburn Police Association, who have been working without a contract since January 1, 2012.

The annual Santa Clause Toy Parade in support of the Salvation Army will be held on September 7. The motorcycle rides will leave from the Weyburn Junior High School parking lot at 1:00 p.m.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of August 12 to 19: *On August 17, police conducted a roving check stop program to rule out drinking drivers. Numerous vehicles were checked.
