Midale (cpd) - The Midale Oilmen's Association 19th Annual Golf Tournament was a huge success. They ended up with 142 golfers which is the best turnout in recent memory.

Canada's "Youngest Retiree', Derek Foster, will be giving a free talk on investment strategy at the Weyburn Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 to noon, to explain how he was able to retire at the age of 34.

The trend in Saskatchewan, and indeed throughout Canada, is towards restricting smoking in public places, to help reduce the presence of second-hand smoke and the dangers to the health of non-smokers.

Clarence Ness, late of Weyburn passed away July 29, 2012, at the age of 90 years. Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mae Ness; his wife, Emilie Ness, two brothers: Delmar Ness and Howard Ness.

The sound of his voice is easily equatable to angels singing, and Onello Bahingawan's vocal talents are made all the more special when you see where the voice is coming from.

Jordan Zazula drives his tee shot off the first hole to open up the Junior Golf Tournament at the Weyburn Golf Club on July 31. Zazula was one of about twenty competitors in the tournament that attracted players from across the southeast.

Weyburn's own Saskatchewan Roughriders' guard, who wears jersey #57, Brendon LaBatte, was recently presented with a customized Chevrolet Silverado LT 4x4 from Barber Motors.
