Families came together to play games and take part in fun activities for the windup held for the TD Summer Reading Club on Friday at the Allie Griffin auditorium.

Members of the Sun Country Riding Club got together at the rodeo arena on the Weyburn fairgrounds for some horsing around fun on Thursday evening.

Weyburn’s newly-formed Lions Club will be holding a fundraiser pancake breakfast for their first project on Sunday, Aug. 25 at River Park. The breakfast will be held at the gazebo in River Park from 8 a.m.

The Weyburn Minor Football Association is holding their annual Football Day in the Park fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Minor Football Field, with the season’s first home games to be played by all of Weyburn’s minor football teams.

Ophelia Keefe and Alydia Hovanak sold puffed wheat cakes and koolaid drinks to raise money for the Weyburn Humane Society, and greeted people with the cry, "50 cents to save a life!".

Weyburn councillors were split in a vote on a traffic bylaw which would have allowed speeds to be increased on Railway Avenue among other things, and city administration will have to start over again on the bylaw.

The Weyburn Soccer Association announced that they will be starting up an All-Abilities program, the first of its kind in Saskatchewan.
