The Beck family of Lang was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, in the family category on Saturday, August 17, in Battleford. Russell Beck was born on the farm west of Lang, in 1914.

A local volunteer and longtime baseball enthusiast, Elmer Franks, was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday. Elmer was born December 20, 1934, in Maidstone, Sask.

Weyburn police received a report on Friday of a break, enter and theft to a residence where an amount of property was stolen. The matter is still under investigation.

No one was very surprised when Canada’s Ethics Commissioner came out in a report to say that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did in fact cross the line ethically in the SNC-Lavalin affair.

Jane Shury, president and CEO of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, presented the Community Award to Mayor Marcel Roy, as the City of Weyburn was inducted into the Hall of Fame for their contributions to the sport of baseball in the province.

The Ministry of Corrections and Policing is providing $220,000 for two existing Weyburn Police Service positions in 2019-20.
