The Weyburn Arts Council presented three Millie Coghill Fine Arts Awards on Thursday at the Signal Hill Arts Centre.

As part of the Oil and Gas Show Golf Tournament on June 4th, Summit Earth Services sponsored a Hole-In-One contest. Jason Peterson of the Streamline Golf Team captured $15,000 for sinking a hole-in-one on the 18th hole.

One of two dinosaurs roaming the Weyburn Parade stopped to say hello to some spectators as the parade made its way south down Third Street through the downtown.

Over 250 teens aged 12 to 18 will converge on Weyburn from July 7-13 to “love on” the community, by helping out and serving people, including putting on two different camps for youth to enjoy.

The City of Weyburn will be a part of an ambitious project that seeks to bring water down from Diefenbaker Lake to the Qu’Appelle area and to Nickle Lake, said Mayor Marcel Roy.

Zane Short from Milestone 4-H Beef Club earned the Reserve Champion Steer for the 4-H Inter Club Competition. He showed a Charolais cross steer which weighed at 1,283 lbs. Pictured with him holding the banner is his friend Kaden Beck.

Emma Lees from Arcola Kisbey 4-H Beef Club won the Grand Champion Steer for the 4-H Inter Club Competition. She won with her Angus cross steer which weighed at 1,429 lbs. Pictured with her holding the banner is her sister Becca Lees.

Brett Jones, centre for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL, came back to his hometown to hold a charitable golf tournament, and held a free football camp for local children.

Exchange student Vivian Huang shared some of the experiences and lessons she learned in the last year with the Weyburn Rotary Club, and attending the Weyburn Comprehensive School.
