Weyburn Review

The City of Weyburn engaged in an exercise in democracy in the last couple of weeks, and are inviting more residents to speak up with their opinions about the speed limits in the city, both city-wide, and in school and playground zones.

The Weyburn Agricultural Society and two of their longest-serving volunteers received honours at the provincial convention for the Saskatchewan Association of Agricultural Societies and Exhibitions (SAASE), which was hosted in Weyburn at the Legion H

Team Southeast earned a total of 33 medals from the Saskatchewan Winter Games, including 10 golds, with the games wrapping up on Saturday after starting up on Feb. 18 in North Battleford.

Weyburn police received numerous complaints on Sunday of vehicles having been rummaged through and garages having been entered in the central area of the city.

Members of area 4-H clubs roasted some wieners as they took part in the 4-H Family Fun Day held on Sunday afternoon at Jubilee Park.

Two seminars are coming up of interest to local businesses, promoted by Community Futures Sunrise and the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.

A pancake breakfast will be held at the Wheatland Senior Centre on Sunday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a cost of $7 per person, including pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. Everyone in the community can attend.

A group of quilters from Weyburn and the surrounding area had a trip of a lifetime recently when they visited the home of batik in Bali, Indonesia.

The 60th annual Weyburn Rotary Music Festival is set to go with a full slate of performers from March 5 to 15, with adjudicators set for the piano, vocal and instrumental competitions. The piano classes will be held the week of March 5-9 at the T.C.
