Yorkton Harvest goalie Taryn Phaneuf who backstopped the Harvest to their first win of the current regular season, was named first game star Saturday night in the game between the Yorkton Harvest and the visiting Saskatoon Contacts.

The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) senior girls volleyball team played in the 16 team Mega Volley Tourna-ment in Regina. The event, co-hosted by Winston Knoll, Riffel and Thom High Schools, featured teams from Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The Yorkton Harvest Hockey Club's coffers just got an injection of $3,643 thanks to the generosity of Terry Ortynsky's Royal Ford. Club president Garth Simms says, "We're pleased with the fund raising opportunity that Royal Ford gave us.

The Sacred Heart Junior Saints Football Team improved their season with a 54-28 win over the Esterhazy Warriors in a game played in Churchbridge. The Junior Saints lead 14-7 after the 1st, 22-7 at the half and 38-21 after the 3rd.

It's back for another exciting year. The annual Grain Millers Harvest Showdown event has been slated for November 2 to the 5th.

Recovering from a heart event can be difficult, and part of that difficulty is making lifestyle changes and getting fit to prevent further heart problems.

The Yorkton Harvest had a tough start to the Sask. Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) regular season, losing their first two games to the Saskatoon Contacts on the road.

Yorkton Harvest team manager Wayne Henley who's been associated with the team since 1984 was honored Sunday afternoon at the Harvest home game by both the Yorkton Harvest Hockey Club and the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL).
