The Canora Composite School Cougars defeated the Norquay/Sturgis combined team in a overtime thriller to win the Northern League championship.

They did it the hard way, but the U15 Highway 9 Predators with players from Canora, Norquay, Preeceville, Sturgis, Kamsack and Buchanan, have qualified for the A Banner final series, defeating Moosomin in the third and deciding game of their semifinal series.

The RCMP is looking for the driver of a white SUV, who struck a pedestrian in Canora in July 2024 and then left the scene.

On March 6, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a disturbance call at a business in Canora. The caller reported an intoxicated man was yelling, screaming and threatening people.

On July 14, 2024, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Canora RCMP received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on 2 Avenue East.

In a physical series, the Cobras bounced back from a loss on home ice in Game 3 to eliminate the Buffalos with an 8-4 Game 4 win in Theodore.

The U15 Highway 9 Predators found success in the first round of the Major Hockey League playoffs, defeating the Yorkton Med Shoppe Terriers in two straight games.

The Parkland Predators, with players from Preeceville, Kamsack, Canora, Churchbridge and Langenburg, defeated Wynyard in the first round before being beaten by Moosomin in Round 2 of provincials.

The K to 4 students enjoyed an amazing, informative presentation from the dedicated Invermay Volunteer Firefighters.

The public is welcome to attend the festival with a $3 charge at the door. Students are admitted free.
