Two teachers new to the Chief Gabriel Cote Education Complex began working at the school this month. Melissa Johnstone, a member of Mistawasis First Nation, was hired to teach Grade 1 students.

Like many other district backyard gardeners, Jack Leis of Kamsack has been busy harvesting the remainder of the produce that was grown during the summer season.

A group of 17 adult students are enrolled in a year-long course being held at Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre that is teaching them how to become educational assistants.

A special “fun hockey camp” for females who have never played hockey before will be held at Kamsack on November 7.

Representatives of 21 groups were among the persons to attend the Norquay Recreation Board’s annual general meeting on September 12.

Members of the Norquay Active Aging exercise group were involved in making a video for the Sunrise Health Region on August 31.

Although the junior football season at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute has begun with a team of students from grades 7 to 9, students in grades 5 and 6 are also involved in the program because they will be forming a team in the spring with Grade

A former main street restaurant is being converted into a studio to accommodate dance instruction and a women’s fitness program.
