The town council of Outlook met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday night, December 13.

A special dramatic reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol was brought to life November 29 when readers took on the challenge at a program called The Dickens’ Night at the Preeceville Trinity United Church.

At least one Kamsack home has taken on an extreme festive appearance with dancing colourful lights and inflatable Christmas characters that mimic a children’s fantasy playground.

The fourth annual festival of trees encouraged individuals to take the time to appreciate what’s special during the busy Christmas season, said Amanda Balyski, an organizer.

Crossroads Credit Union presented a cheque in the amount of $3,000 to the Canora Composite School (CCS) Community Council on December 5.

Once again as a pre-Christmas ritual, students of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute are busy raising funds and encouraging residents to support them as they endeavour to fill several hampers with food that will be distributed to students’ families

The Canora Nursery School Trade Show was held on December 2 at the Legion Dugout, as a fundraiser for the school.

The Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual “horn measuring event” at the Sturgis Arena on December 8. The club members brought in 16 antlers and one bear skull to be scored.

A total of 14 sets of antlers were brought in for the annual antler measuring of the Canora branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, from animals brought down by experienced hunters as well as those just getting started in the sport.

The Kamsack Recreation Board has its eyes set on winning $10,000; the only catch being lots and lots of people have to do lots and lots of moving around for 10 days in March.
