Last year Yorkton’s Steven Laycock was just one shot away from winning the Canadian Open in front of family and friends on home ice.

Both of Yorkton’s high school curling programs competed in their first high school bonspiel of the season Saturday at the Yorkton Curling Club, with each school entering three separate teams into what was called a ‘funspiel’.

Sacred Heart High School hosted the 4A Boys Regional Volleyball Championships on November 20-21. The tournament consisted of seven teams. In pool A: Melville, Fort Qu’Appelle and Kamsack. In pool B: Sacred Heart, Moosomin, Esterhazy and Carlyle.

Beautiful weather on November 8 helped make a work bee a more pleasant experience for the staff, board members and volunteers at the Duck Mountain Ski Area.
