Everyone loved it and everyone had a good time so, so we’re going to do this every year from now on.

Over the weekend nearly 300 soccer players ranging in age from three to 50 took part in Yorkton United’s end-of-season indoor soccer tournament at the Gallagher Centre Flexihall.

The Yorkton Storm Swim Club competed in North Battleford this past weekend. Nine of the club’s swimmers made the trek to the grassroots meet and had some strong results.

Placing second in the Carlyle Motor Products cash bonspiel, held from January 8 to10, was the Jeremy Hrycenko rink of Arran which was sponsored by Rawhides in Stenen.

Seventy-five junior curlers representing 10 schools within the Good Spirit School Division will be in Kamsack next weekend participating in the district competition.

A trio of wins this past weekend in Melville saw the YRHS Raiders senior boys’ basketball team return home to Yorkton as Melville tournament champions.

Two solid performances were sullied by two incomplete efforts this past weekend at a 16 team basketball tournament in Moose Jaw, as the YRHS Lady Raiders were just .500 with a 2-2 record over the two-day event.

A pair of convincing wins – an 82-59 victory over Kamsack and a hard fought 52-45 win over host Melville – combined with a spirited 75-57 loss to the YRHS Raiders saw the Sacred Heart Saints senior boys’ basketball team go 2-1 over the weekend finish

The Yorkton Force Volleyball Club have officially began their 2016 U17 volleyball season this past weekend, as they hosted their home exhibition tournament in preparation for the 2016 Sask Cup and Provincial competitions.
