The stars of Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) returned to Yorkton Wednesday, June 24, with six hard hitting, high flying matches that saw everything from upsets to outside interference and justice served in less than three hours.

All the hard work paid off for some athletes from the Yorkton and area who were picked to represent Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Championship in Winnipeg from July 17-19.

A local hockey player has recently been selected to represent Saskatchewan at a prestigious AAA tournament in Las Vegas from June 29-July 3.

Cliff Koroll, a former NHL player who always identified Canora as his home town, was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame on June 13 in Regina.

An undermanned Parkland Expos midget ‘AAA’ baseball team went 1-1 this past weekend, splitting a twin-bill with the Saskatoon Giants on Saturday afternoon trouncing the Giants 11-0 in Yorkton in Game One before dropping Game Two 11-9 in Melville.

Many things have changed for Michael Elgin since he first set foot in Yorkton back on Thursday April 22, 2010 to take part in Canadian Wrestling’s Elite’s (CWE) first-ever Saskatchewan show, where he was defeated by Jimmy Jacobs.

Sacred Heart recently held their tenth annual spring sports banquet where they handed out individual awards to members of their winter and spring sports teams.
