The ‘AAA’ Parkland Expos had a rough go of it at the 2015 Midget ‘AAA’ Provincial Championship in Melville this past weekend.

Seventy of the province’s top men’s and women’s junior golfers, 60 male and 10 female, made their way to Yorkton’s Deer Park Municipal Golf Course last week to compete for Saskatchewan’s 89th Junior Men’s and 65th Junior Women’s Provincial Championsh

Yorkton’s cricket team stemmed a three-game losing slide July 25 with a dominant performance over Regina’s Bengal Tigers Cricket Club.

The Preeceville Skating Arena received a Community Demonstration Grant through the Saskatchewan Scrap Tire Corporation (SSTC). The grant allowed the arena committee to replace the old rubber floor matting.

Victor Bautista of Water Polo Saskatchewan introduced the sport of water polo to a group of about 20 swimmers at the Kamsack Swimming Pool on Friday.

Eight teams in the Preeceville Slo-Pitch League are currently in playoff mode. Playoffs began on July 7 and the winners are to be crowned on July 21.

The Preeceville Aces peewee ball team lost in the semi-final round at the A2 (small town) provincials in Hudson Bay during the weekend. “There were two pools of four for a total of eight teams,” said Kipp Bayer, coach.

Spectators and racers made their way out to the Yorkton Airport all day Sunday for the Prairie Thunder Drag Races. Young families to car buffs gathered around the track to enjoy the exciting sport.

The Yorkton Yankees got their quest for the 2015 Southeast Senior Baseball League (SESBL) playoff championship off to a successful start Monday evening.
