Sixteen teams take to the ice in IP tourney

The Farrell Agencies Initiation Program (IP) hockey tournament took place over the weekend at the Kinsmen and Farrell Agencies Arenas.

Fundraiser hockey

The 25th Annual Student/Teacher Benefit hockey game is scheduled for March 23 (Wed) at 7 p.m., at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

XC skiing

There are 6 km of classic cross country ski trails that have been groomed at Deer Park Municipal golf course by volunteers of the Yorkton Cross Country ski club. Trail fees are $10 /season per individual and $15/season per family.

Outdoor rinks

Outdoor skating rinks in Yorkton have been constructed are ready for use weather permitting. The rinks are located at: the Knights of Columbus Park, Heritage Heights, Silver Heights Park, Weinmaster Park, and Appleton Park.

Gloria Hayden

The hours of operation for the Gloria Hayden Centre are as follows. Oct. 3-May 22, Monday-Friday 9-12 noon and 1-10 p.m. Saturday and Sundays, 12 noon-5 p.m. Please call 786-1776 for more information.

SJHL playoffs

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League post season is now well underway as the Terriers play the Estevan Bruins in the first round of the playoffs. The series is a best-of-seven. Yorkton won the first two game.

Volleyball tourney results

Ten teams from around the province took part in the event hosted by the Yorkton Volleyball Club. Teams included Strasbourg, Meunster, McSweeney's Selects (Yorkton), Blitz 14s, Weyburn made up pool A.

Raiders adds to curling medal count at provincials

The YRHS curling mixed curling team competed in the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association provincial championships of curling in Regina and they came home with bronze medals around their necks.
