The Yorkton United Chelsea boys team travelled to Regina on Saturday to take part in the Regina Soccer Associations Premier league cup competition. Chelsea drew the UCT Lightning in its first game.

The Alexander Men's Wear Junior Cardinals got a good taste of some quality ball here Sunday afternoon when a team called the Red Sox rolled into town. They weren't from Boston but they had at least one guy who could really hit the baseball and hard.

Horseshoe club looking for more members
It wasn't a bad day for some horseshoe throwing Saturday morning at the park on First Avenue. The Yorkton Horseshoe Club held its annual sanctioned tournament June 4 on the Old Drake School Grounds. The day included both singles and doubles.
