It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Stanley Walter Dychko who passed peacefully on February 18, 2017 in Winnipeg, MB in his 79th year.

Mr. Metro Mosiondz of Yorkton, beloved husband of Martha Mosiondz, passed away suddenly in the early hours of February 16, 2017. He was 85 years of age.

George Kitzan, beloved husband of Olga of Theodore, passed away February 15, 2017 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of 93 years. George was born May 1, 1923 to Nick and Mary (Forstey) Kitzan at Goldenvale District north of Theodore.

The second game of the first round of playoffs for the RawTec Maulers was a nail biter at the Farrell Agencies Arena, as they shared goals back and forth with the Notre Dame Hounds.

The Yorkton Xerox Bantam AA Terriers of the SBAAHL came out on top of their series in the second round of playoffs.

A 20-year-old Yorkton man is going to prison for providing the illicit drug MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, to another person. Garrett Gross pleaded guilty February 27 to one count of trafficking in a Schedule I drug.

A provincial court judge has reserved his decision in an attempted robbery case tried last week in Yorkton. Troy Mamchur, 31, is accused of attempting to rob the Scoops Ice Cream bar last summer.

Dear Editor: In the past and presumably in the future oil, potash and grain prices will rise and fall. Potash and oil prices seem to have larger rebounds and affect the economy almost immediately.
