The Yorkton United Football Club’s U11 Storm boys started the Winnipeg Golden Boy tournament strong with a 4-1 win on Friday night against the Bonvital Flames. Yorkton started slowly and the game was tied 1-1 at half time.

The old refrain is that there is nothing to do in the city of Yorkton. I’m beginning to have very little sympathy towards that viewpoint, largely because the city has a bad habit of scaring acts away.

There is a reason why tough times in Saskatchewan become times of division. It has to do with the fact that no government ever seems to equally represent both rural and urban interests for very long.
