Yorkton This Week

On this day in 1928 Yorkton officially became a city.

Last weekend, Yorkton Regional High School was one of twelve schools who played in the 7th annual York City Classic senior boys’ basketball tournament. YRHS and Sacred Heart High School hosted the tournament.

Ethan Holstein is a 13-year-old cadet from Yorkton. He is with the 2517 Melville Legion Army Cadet Corps.

Rural and Remote Health Minister Greg Ottenbreit has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer according to a Saskatchewan Party news release. Indications are that the cancer was found at an early enough stage that he believes his prognosis is good.

Yorkton Council was given an over view at their regular meeting Monday of what is recommended for flood mitigation moving forward.

Fees for some criminal record checks are going up after Yorkton Council unanimously supported a recommendation from the local detachment Monday. In reviewing revenue sources for the C\city detachment of the R.C.M.P.
