Dear Editor: The legacy of Terry Fox continues in Yorkton. Since 1980 when the Marathon of Hope started, over $600 million has been raised for cancer research and Yorkton has been a contributing community.

Mr. Peter Skwernuik of Yorkton passed away with family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer on August 10, 2013 at the age of 86 years.

I'm not likely to make many new friends in broadcasting with this column, and I may even lose a few; but what you are about to read is something I feel I'm more than qualified to offer an opinion on.

We live in the era of information, for better or for worse. I say that because while information has never been more abundant and getting access to it has never been easier and faster the same can be said for disinformation.
