Yorkton This Week

Kayla Luky turned to music as a way to entertain herself, growing up in rural Manitoba.

The Saskatchewan Association of Community Living is coming to Yorkton Sunday to inform area people of the programming available through the Association for those with intellectual disabilities.

On April 6 in Canora, Rita Fetsch competed in her first high school career badminton tournament and won a gold medal in girls' singles. On April 11, Morgan Shymanski won what would be her first of four gold medals of the season.

"That's it!" claimed Randy Schuster, coach of the Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) badminton club following their regional playoff which the Yorkton school hosted on Saturday.

The Yorkton Regional High School will be the site of two big archery competitions in the next 14 days, says Darren Wandy of the YRHS. This Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., the school will be holding its own tournament featuring paper-faced targets.

Yorkton's first ever Zumbathon was held this past weekend at St Mary's Cultural Center.
