Battlefords RCMP had a busy 24-hour period between 6 a.m. Saturday, April 12 and 6 a.m. Sunday, April 13 when they responded to about 40 calls for service/occurrences.

A Slave Lake, Alta. man was arrested after stolen property was seized from a property south of Hafford last week. According to Blaine Lake RCMP, Scott Anderson, 45, has been charged with one count of of stolen property exceeding $5,000.

Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation is benefiting from a $50,000 grant from BATC Community Development Corporation. The money goes to the hospital's purchase of three new infant warmers for Women's Health and Birthing Centre.

Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 25 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Sunday, April 13 and 6 a.m. Monday, April 14. During that period there were four false alarms, two traffic related occurrences and seven false/nuisance calls.

At 8:43 p.m. on Sunday April 13, 2014 Battlefords Rural RCMP responded to a complaint of an escaped prisoner. Joseph Simon Peter Yaremko, 32 years of age, escaped from the Saskatchewan Hospital located near North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
