It's official: April Fool's Day is a thing of the past in North Battleford. At a hastily-called special meeting of council early this morning, council passed a bylaw officially outlawing April Fool's Day and all April Fool's jokes in the city.

MACPHERSON , Brian George July 27th, 1965 - March 13, 2014 Brian "Scotty" Macpherson died suddenly in a tragic Snowmobiling accident in Montana, USA at the age of 48.

JESSOP: Arnold Francis Jessop, July 12, 1917 - March 18, 2014. Arnold Jessop, son of David and Adeline Jessop of Leross, died peacefully in St Paul' s hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Monday, March 18th, 2014.

KENDELL, RAY : It is with sadness that the Family of Ray Kendell announce his passing at the Battlefords Union Hospital on March 20th, 2014 at the age of 81 yrs. Ray is survived by his loving wife Mary of 51 yrs.

The weekend will get started bright and early this Saturday, April 5 with the annual Battlefords Mayors' Breakfast. This year's guest speaker will be entrepreneur and motivational speaker Michael Palmer, a Saskatchewan Roughriders Grey Cup champion.
