Rabbit Lake's Rose Gill lodge hosted a Pie in the Eye fundraiser, raising $13,000 for the facility. The voting got really hectic the last couple days with everyone wanting their favourite person in the top 20.

Christmas events enjoyed

There were many Christmas themed events going on last week. The Red Hat ladies outdid themselves again this year with their festival of trees. Last year I thought, "they can't be more beautiful," but each year they area.

Seasonal activities keep villagers hopping

This active little community has had another busy week, with Christmas programs and gatherings of clubs to play cards or for meetings. The Meota choir entertained at Ruth Manor Dec. 11, with an appreciative audience of residents and staff.

Four local skaters have qualified for the upcoming Saskatchewan Winter Games in Prince Albert Feb. 16-19. Corrine Sokul, Kira Tollefson, Cortni Millhouse and Jalissa Klippenstein all advanced to compete in Prince Albert.

Holidays interrupt schedule at aquatic centre

The upcoming holiday season will cause some alterations to the schedule at the aquatic centre. For the most part the changes will mean less organized activities in the pools and more available space for leisure swims and lane swims.
