The Melville/Ituna RCMP Detachment are seeking the assistance of the public in locating an escaped prisoner. Christopher Adam Miller, 28, of Melville escaped from the Provincial court room in Melville Monday morning.

A former employee charged with administering a noxious substance to a resident at a North Battleford group home is going to trial. Ashley Marie Johnson will be tried in January in Court of Queen's Bench, Battleford.

Mourners gathered Friday afternoon to bid farewell to the late Sen. Herb Sparrow. The public memorial service for Sparrow, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, was held at the Don Ross Centre.

The Saskatoon Historical Case Unit of the RCMP completed its search of the North Saskatchewan river Thursday. The search consisted of following the river from North Battleford to Nipawin with the use of the RCMP helicopter and ground support.

The new Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre is now officially open. Dignitaries cut the ribbon Saturday at a grand opening of the new facility. It is the first of the four components of the Credit Union CUPlex to officially open for business.
