North Battleford officially kicked off its 2013 centennial celebration this week. They unveiled their logo for the celebration - a blue logo with the North Battleford water tower prominently displayed.

The fundraising campaign for the Credit Union CUPlex received another boost last week with a $50,000 donation. The donation comes from Bill and Eunice Wilson, who are sponsoring the whirlpool in the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre.

Brian Weisbrod of Lumsden is just days away from taking his place in the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, as the class of 2012 will be inducted Saturday.

It was a beautiful day Thursday, especially for the team of Art Strueby, Ray Hoover and Fay MacKinnon, as they eagled number four and came in as the top team of the New Horizons golf at North Battleford Golf and Country Club.

The Battlefords have no shortage of spectacular events throughout the summer months, and again one of the most anticipated celebrations is BridgeFest. The Battlefords Scuba Community will bring something new to BridgeFest this year.

If you plan to imbibe intoxicating beverages be sure to find someone else to get behind the wheel. That's the message from Cpl. Michael Benjamin, team leader of the North West Region Traffic Services of the RCMP.

Battleford RCMP are seeking assistance in locating an 83 year old female from the Rabbit Lake area. Bernice Carnahan was last seen at approximately 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 in Rabbit Lake, but was believed to have come to Battleford.

Three new physicians are coming on stream to serve the clinics operated by North Saskatchewan River Health Holdings. Dr. Dandugula arrived this summer and Health Holdings reports he is settling into his practice. He retunred to Scotland Aug.

The late Hank Dornstauder of Vibank will take his place in the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in a week. Dornstauder was born in 1926, one of 13 children born to Christof and Caroline Dornstauder. His baseball career started on their farm.
