Census shows growing Battlefords

The 2011 Census results officially show what Battlefords officials have known for a while now: that both communities are growing in population. The 2011 Census results show North Battleford with a population of 13,888.

The communities of Blaine Lake, Leask and Waldheim with be celebrating their centennial year in 2012. The community of Blaine Lake will be hosting its festivities Aug. 3 to 5 commencing Aug. 3 with registration and social.

Homeowner thwarts break in

A business in the 200 block of 22nd Street in Battleford was broken into and vandalized Feb. 2. Once inside, perpetrators broke items and caused other minor damage.
