The North Saskatchewan River Baseball League playoffs resumed Tuesday. The Wilkie Brewers travelled to Meadow Lake while the Lloydminster Meridian Twins hosted the Lloydminster Junior Redhawks.

Wally Harasen was born in the Yorkton area on Jan. 15, 1913. During Harasen's playing career in the 1930s is he made a strong impression on those who watched him.

RCMP are currently on the lookout for an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant. His name is Edward (Ted) Keith Geddes, age 64 from Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. He is described as caucasian with gray hair, hazel eyes, 180 cm tall and weighs 82 kg.

Unity RCMP are looking for information about the theft of a 2010 Precision Mini-Dump hydraulic lift trailer. According to police, the trailer was stolen sometime between 9 a.m. on July 27 and 11 a.m. Aug. 2 from a construction yard in Denzil.

The 15th Annual Polkafest took place in Hafford July 8 and 9. The weekend was full of activity that included dancing to three bands, a polka mass, pancake breakfast and a jam for local musicians.

Battlefords RCMP are seeking help from the public in locating a missing person. They are trying to locate Ronald William Peequaquat, a 45 year old, who was last seen Saturday, June 25 leaving a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation.

The Krivoshein Oscar Lake Bohdan school heritage committee organized and hosted the fifth annual heritage day and school reunion July 23 at the original Oscar Lake school site located northeast of Hafford.
