He wants to make Humboldt a place people want to move to. Kenton Flavel, a resident of Humboldt for over 11 years, will be one of the names on the ballot during the October 25 city council elections.

Towns in the Humboldt region are, for the most part, struggling to find enough people to fill their councils this fall.

Sam Zawyrucha March 23, 1924 - October 7, 2012 The passing of Mr. Sam Zawyrucha of Humboldt (formerly of Viscount) occurred on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Humboldt District Hospital. He was 88 years of age.

Dick Blechinger is seeking his fifth term on council for the village of Muenster in the upcoming October 24 municipal elections.The retired teacher has spent most of his adult life in Muenster, raising four children and teaching at Muenster School.

In the village of Muenster, a new candidate is running for one of four councillor positions in the upcoming municipal elections on October 24.His name is Rehman Khan, and he works as a systems administrator at St. Peter's College.

Municipal Elections 2012The second call for nominations in this fall's municipal elections closed on October 3. Four towns in the area required further calls for nominations for council positions: Bruno, Colonsay, Lanigan and Watson.

He's served four terms as the mayor of Muenster, and 29 years on the town council prior to that.Yet Benno Korte still isn't tired of being in the driver's seat of the village where he was born and raised.
