NOVECOSKY - It is with great sadness the family announces that Hilda Veronica Novecosky, 71 years of Bethany Pioneer Village Middle Lake and formally of Humboldt passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon surrounded

He's touring rural Saskatchewan on a bit of a fact-finding mission. Randy Weekes, the Minister of Rural and Remote Health, which is a brand new cabinet post, was in Humboldt on July 19 to talk to community and health leaders about local health care.

It was an exciting demonstration for swimmers.

The Muenster Bantam Red Sox are Provincial A baseball champions for the second year in a row, but they earned this year's title at home. The Muenster Red Sox hosted the Bantam A Provincial Championship from July 20-22.

It was a weekend for winning. The Muenster Pee Wee Red Sox won their Provincial Championship in Estevan the weekend of July 21-22. "We went undefeated in our pool. We won all three games," said coach Chad Hofmann.

It was another week of weird weather. On July 18, another prairie storm blew through the area, complete with hail and thundershowers.

The weekend wins continued for Muenster with the Midget AA Red Sox winning their league finals in Melville July 20-22. Their win followed the Mosquito, Bantam and Pee Wee teams all winning their provincial championships on the weekend as well.

Last year they came close; this year, they went all the way. The Muenster Mosquito Red Sox baseball team claimed the A2 Provincial Championship on July 22, after a weekend-long four-team tournament held in Muenster.

It's pretty incredible for Humboldt to have produced two Olympic athletes, and they wanted to show their support.
