NIPAWIN — The provincial government has released the 2020 Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal recipients with members from 26 rural and urban communities across the province.

MELFORT — The Melfort RCMP detachment had some strong community goals coming into 2020. With COVID-19 interrupting the timing for many of these goals, they still remain major focuses for the detachment, said S/Sgt. Adare Guest.

There are 18 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on October 8, bringing the total to 2,012 reported cases.

HUMBOLDT — A city councillor is running for mayor because he wants to continue the work done by council over the last four years. Lorne Pratchler said it has been a good four years of strong leadership at the Humboldt city council table.

HUMBOLDT — The nomination deadline to run for Humboldt city council has passed. Three are running for mayor and 14 are running for the six council spots.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has declared a multi-jurisdictional community transmitted outbreak. Dr. Khami Chokani, Medical Health Officer for Prince Albert, officially declared the outbreak on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

NIPAWIN — The Nipawin RCMP are making preparations for the coming year. Josh Martin with the Nipawin RCMP gave his report to council during the Sept. 28 meeting.

NIPAWIN — Council pay will be staying the same over the next term, with the exception of an allowance used to pay for some trip expenses. Barry Elliott, the town’s administrator, brought the item to the council at its meeting on Sept.

TISDALE — The Town of Tisdale will be running curbside voting on municipal election day for people who cannot make it out to the polling station due to COVID-19.

HUMBOLDT — Larry Jorgenson announced that he will once again run for a seat at the council table. Jorgenson announced on Facebook on Oct. 5 that he is “humbly” asking for votes on Monday, Nov. 9.
