HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt group is going to be recognized nationally for its efforts to raise money for research about type I diabetes.

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs’ successful season came to an end in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League finals. Melfort fell to the Battlefords North Stars, 4-1, in the best-of-seven Canalta Cup finals.

HUMBOLDT — A petition hosted by the Humboldt Wildlife Federation is asking the provincial government not to shut down front counter service at the local ministry of environment office.

EAST CENTRAL — Three new $3,000 non-refundable tax credits are being made available to first responders in the province.

MELFORT — The season is over for the Melfort Mustangs. With a 7-2 decision, the Battlefords North Stars secured their fourth win in the seven-game final series – and with it, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Canalta Cup.

EAST CENTRAL — Due to popular demand, the Saskatchewan RCMP has expanded its crime watch advisory network to cover the entire province. The network was launched on a trial basis in the southern parts of the province in early March.

MELFORT — Students from Melfort and Unit Comprehensive Collegiate will be headed to provincials after a win at the Region 7 Drama Festival.

NIPAWIN — A 28-year-old woman has been charged in connection with three assaults in Nipawin. The assaults took place April 13.

HUMBOLDT — Thanks to high energy prices and an effort to reduce expenses, the Humboldt Co-op reported $1 million in savings by the end of 2018. In 2017, the co-op was in the red, reporting a loss of almost $376,000.
