CARROT RIVER — A safe in the Carrot River was broken into and cash was stolen. The theft occurred between 12:30 am and 8:20 am on April 17. The thief broke in through the window in the back, and went through one desk.

LANIGAN — A few streets in southeast Lanigan will face a planned power outage on the afternoon of April 18. From 1 pm to 4 pm, power will go out for residents of the north part of Howard Crescent, Robertson Road and Clement Place.

TISDALE — The winners of the most outstanding duet award didn’t have to travel far to compete. Lexi Mutimer and Georgia Smith, both 10, were two of approximately 900 dancers at the 11th Annual Dance Experience, organized by the Tisdale Dance Centre.

EAST CENTRAL — While the Horizon School Division has received an extra $141,000 from the provincial budget to use as it sees fit, it needs around $1.3 million to pay for new expenses.

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs and Battlefords North Stars battled into overtime. In the end, Battefords made the winning shot. Battlefords won Game 4 of the SJHL finals on April 17 6OT-5, putting them ahead 3-1 in the series.

HUMBOLDT — The adjudicators tasked with judging the approximately 800 dancers at the On Stage festival said they were impressed with the competitors.

MELFORT — The enthusiasm surrounding the SJHL Canalta Cup finals has spilled over into the legislative assembly, with bets being placed by MLAs from the cities involved.

EAST CENTRAL — At about 1 pm on April 17 a power outage occurred in Tisdale, Melfort, Hudson Bay, Kinistino, St. Louis, St. Brieux, Star City, Tisdale, Weldon, Yellow Creek, Chelan and surrounding rural areas.

MUENSTER — Muenster’s Logan Hofmann loves the challenge of being a pitcher.

TISDALE — Trojans goalie Tanner Martin received both the provincial top goalie and the goalie most valuable player award from the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) at the Trojans’ awards night April 13.
