BRUNO — At nationals, the Bruno Junior Axemen broomball team won gold on the B-side. Gord Bender, the team’s coach, said they were happy with the results of the tournament, which took place in Rivière-du-Loup, Que. from April 1 to 6.

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos have a new mascot – and they are asking local students to give it a name. Those submitting an entry will not only have to give a name, but also give a reason behind the name.

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt's 12th Avenue from 10th Street to 11th Street is closed to traffic due to water line repairs.

NAICAM — Melfort RCMP are asking for help to identify a man connected with a series of break-ins in Naicam. The break-ins took place on March 28 2019 between 12 am and 3 am.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Rambler Rodeo and Trade Fair is coming back with some new surprises. “It brings a lot of people to town,” said Carson Penner, co-chair of the event. “We put the RECplex through a transformation from hockey to rodeo.

HUMBOLDT — A friendly competition between Curves locations raised 627.25 pounds of food for the Humboldt Food Bank. Patrons collected the food over the month of March. People were also able to join the gym using food as payment.

HUMBOLDT — With eight of its members receiving medals, the Humboldt Karate Club had a strong showing at the provincial spring tournament it hosted at Humboldt Public School last weekend.

TISDALE — Tisdale council has passed their annual budget with a zero per cent increase to property taxes.

EAST CENTRAL — The province is asking for the school division’s input as it develops a new education sector strategic plan. In turn, the Horizon School Division wants to hear from the public.
