TISDALE — The battles have been set as the best AAA Midget teams in Western Canada prepare to face off in Tisdale.

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs came from behind twice to grab a 2-0 lead in their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League semifinals series against the Estevan Bruins. The Mustangs won game one 6-2 after trailing 2-0 on Friday.

NIPAWIN — The Nipawin Hawks organization was pleased with the development of its players during a successful 2018-19 season.

HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt resident is getting a medal from the Lieutenant Governor to recognize his decades of volunteerism.

EAST CENTRAL — The federal Liberals have selected their candidate for the Prince Albert riding in the next federal election. Estelle Hjertaas is a Prince Albert-based criminal defence lawyer working for legal aid.

HUMBOLDT — A vintage tractor that was restored by a Kamsack man and then painted to honour the Humboldt Broncos will have a permanent home in Humboldt.

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs faced their first defeat in the semifinal series against the Estevan Bruins. The away game on April 2 saw Estevan win 3-2.

EAST CENTRAL — The North East Outreach and Support Services have received funding for a free walk-in counselling service that will be open for anyone.
