NIPAWIN — A man was found dead on what police called "the driving portion" of Highway #55 two kilometres east of Nipawin. Nipawin RCMP were alerted on Sept. 13 at 4:15 am.

Tisdale — Council is looking at the potential for a crosswalk near the Caleb Village retirement community. “Well it’s just there is no crosswalk at Caleb Village, the hospital and Newmarket Manor,” said Al Jellicoe, Tisdale’s mayor.

Work will begin on a replacement to the Aquatic Centre’s air handling unit. Humboldt council voted to spend $40,000 to develop engineered drawing and tender documents for the unit’s replacement at its Sept 10 meeting.

MELFORT — Council voted to change utility collection on water and sewage so that cities can transfer unpaid utility charges to the property tax roll.

Last week I wrote about the incredible history-making round played by Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson. Yet there was an important note I left out that I thought I would save for this week.

Council is aiming to complete the 2019 city budget before the year is done. At their Sept. 10 meeting, council approved a set of timelines in which the budget will be finished.

MELFORT — Melfort council passed a motion, six to one, to invest $50,000 into replacing windows on the historic post office and install an art installation donor wall. The windows will be replaced with historic replicas.
