NIPAWIN — Nipawin council is interested in starting a community safety officer program, but it decided to wait until the fall to see how effective recent bylaw enforcement reforms are before acting.

MELFORT — A group of eight women has taken over the organization of the Melfort multiple sclerosis walk.

NORTHEAST — Northeast schools will see almost $1.4 million in repairs during the next school year. Nipawin’s LP Miller Comprehensive School will receive $550,000 and Melfort and Unit Comprehensive Collegiate will receive $495,000 for roof repairs.

Safe Communities Humboldt and Area was understandably unable to host its PARTY program this year.

For the second year in a row Wadena’s Delores Syrota and her rink are national championship medallists.

It was a lot of work for a rewarding night with the Lanigan and District Music Festival final concert on May 4 in Lanigan. This was also the award night for the festival with 65 awards given out and 19 medals for outstanding performances.

It was a tough start to the Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association season for the Bruno Merchants as they dropped both of their week one contests.
