The Remembrance Day holiday pushed the City Humboldt council meeting to Nov. 14. Besides the Original Humboldt award presentations (See story on page 2), City Manager Joe Day also gave an update to council regarding the 2018 budget.

Colton Halvorson is thrilled to be back on the ice with the Carrot River Outback Thunder. Last season, the Colonsay product’s rookie campaign was limited to 18 games due to concussion issues. Halvorson has already played in 15 games this time around.

A trip to Ottawa a year in the making taught students at Star City School the importance of civic engagement – both at home and in the nation’s capital – and Remembrance Day.

The Band with No Name had the Humboldt Legion rocking with the music of Tom Petty for the Humboldt and Area Refugee Coalition fundraiser on Nov. 17.

An extra $1 paid in addition to a $2 Western 649 ticket was a good investment for a Nipawin resident. Norma Thomas brought her ticket at the Nipawin Domo Gas & C-Store for the Nov. 11 draw. She won the $100,000 EXTRA.

Tisdale will once again host a major curling championship. The Affinity Credit Union Joint Senior Provincials will be held at the Tisdale Curling Rink Feb. 20 to 25.

Another quiet night offensively sunk the Humboldt Broncos as they fell 3-2 in overtime in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action from Humboldt on Nov. 22.

A slow start sunk the Melfort Mustangs as they fell 3-2 to the Yorkton Terriers in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action from Yorkton on Nov. 22.

When it comes to the hard work that has gone into the Original Humboldt site, the numbers are beyond counting.

What started as a fairly equal battle for the Tisdale Trojans as they competed against the Beardy's Blackhawks at home soon turned into a solid 4-2 victory for the team.
