Jul. 27, 1996 was a historic day for the Humboldt Uniplex. That was the day that the Humboldt Aquatic Centre opened its doors for the first time. The Centre celebrated this achievement with free swimming, a history display, and cupcakes on Jul. 27.

The city is working hard to fix the lagoon odour issue. The 2016 budget had money set aside to address the odour issue, including a lagoon assessment done by engineering firm, Catterall and Wright.

After six days of competition the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games have come to an end. The games ran from Jul. 24 to Jul. 30 in Estevan with athletes from across the province competing in 13 different sports.

With the loss in the provincial championship game the Humboldt Midget AA Dodgers season came to a close and what a season it was.

After living in Saskatchewan for the past eight months I recently decided to make a trip to the home of the watermelon helmet for my first Saskatchewan Roughriders game.

You hit like a girl! Did that offend you? Well it should not. By that standard, I have been throwing like a boy my whole life. Those who play slo-pitch with me know this. Gendering has always happened. Girls clothes. Boys clothes. Boys toys.

ECKL: Rose It is with sadness and heavy hearts but also with thanksgiving and joy that we celebrate the long life of Rose Eckl, who returned to her eternal home on July, 20, 2016 in her 102 nd year.

ALTERMATT: Robert Karl April 16, 1943 - July 18, 2016 The death of Robert Altermatt of Englefeld, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on Monday, July 18, 2016. He was 73 years of age.

It was an informative weekend in Humboldt for sheep producers. The 2016 Grasslands Sheep Exhibition took place at the Humboldt Uniplex from July 22 to Jul. 24th.

It was a well documented site and volunteers spent Jul. 18-22 digging it up. Located 8 kilometres out of town, Original Humboldt is rich with Saskatchewan’s communication, cultural, aboriginal, and military history.
