Herb Sutton, the director of education of the Light of Christ Catholic School Board is retiring at the end of this school year, and he was named this year's staff Lumen Christi award winner at the division's annual service recognition awards ceremony

Jodi Kissick of Marwyne, Alta. took grandma Dorothy Kissick out for Sunday night supper. Colleen Koski has been ill this week but is now on the mend. Hope it keeps getting better, Colleen.

The regular monthly meeting of the Maidstone Museum was held May 26 at the museum with Mae Hinde bringing the meeting to order.

It's the end of May already. This just doesn't seem possible. I know grad parents are feeling the sentiments as they watch their kids go through their last month of high school.

Maymont hosted a spring trade show May 24 in the Maymont Memorial Hall. Thanks to everyone who were vendors and to everyone who came out to this event. All proceeds from table rent, door and lunch went to the Maymont Memorial Hall.

Now that we have entered lawn-watering season, Neilburg residents are asked to remember to water only on the day that you are scheduled to water.

Grass everywhere is growing very quickly. It is good to see it is so lush and green. I notice the grass has been cut in the village already. That will be an ongoing job from now on.

There were a few mistakes in the last news from the school. Jean Brehon has achieved 20 years of service with the Living Sky School division and Ben Stenerson received a 25-year service award. Also honoured that evening, was bus driver, George Casey.

Battlefords Art Club members got together on a fine sunny afternoon Tuesday to work on everything from acrylic abstracts to watercolour flowers to a zentangle coffee cup.
