Sonningdale had an old-fashioned Christmas concert Dec. 14.

We're only a couple of generations removed from the era when most women - or at least women in rural areas and small towns - produced quarts and quarts of preserves every summer.

This month Sakewew High School decided we would do a spirit week. We had Hat Day, Whacky Hair Day, Opposite Day, and Pyjama Day.Many students participated and some of the teachers as well.

The Neilburg branch of the Lakeland Library held a tea Nov. 14 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of both the local library and the Lakeland region.

With Christmas fast approaching, students are looking forward to holidays. For local students, Dec. 20 is the final day of school. Christmas concerts are the order of the day to finish off the school term. University students are already on break.
