In the Community

I work out three to five times a week, not because I love it or even like it. I do it because my weakness is restaurant and take out food. I think most of us enjoy a supper out.

The Battlefords Jazz Society is starting its new season with a bang Oct. 15 with the Michael Rault Band and Colleen Brown, two Edmonton musicians.

What a beautiful autumn! I find it difficult to stay out of a vehicle, wanting to just drive about enjoying the vibrant autumn colours.

The Neilburg senior girls' volleyball team is looking strong this year. The team travelled to Turtleford Sept. 8 and 9 to take part in St. Walburg's home tournament.

Maymont musicians travelled to Wilkie recently. It was my first time in Wilkie and I was truly impressed. I even had my own chauffer driver - thanks, Bert.

The Paynton fire department was called out Sept. 22 at 11:30 p.m. to a vehicle fire. What appears to be a stolen truck had been driven through a barbed wire fence and set on fire.

Enjoying the unseasonably warm weather and leaves in gold, red, and orange, the community of Ratushniak Elementary School in Maidstone walked for a very good reason Sept. 23.

Unity had another busy weekend Sept. 23 and 24. And thanks to the gorgeous Mr. Sunshine, it was a grand weekend to spend outdoors. The town has been and will be saluting seniors this week as national Salute to Seniors Week takes place.
