All kinds of kookie activity drew children to Central Park beside the North Battleford Library July 28.

First of all I must apologize as I have taken so long to get the month of July community news reported due to the postal strike and my husband and I were on holidays for a couple of weeks to parts of British Columbia and Alberta.

Our newsroom has explored many "First Person Exploits into the Unknown" in the past few years, but this one - about how I broke my arm and the progress of my recovery - gives a new twist to the premise.

A bridal shower was held July 20 in the Borden Senior's Room to honour Amanda Lindford who is marrying Jason Rempel August 13. They will be living on the former Hans Nickel farm northeast of Borden.

The Chapel Gallery will be hosting a Member Exhibition in the Window Salon during the month of August. Local artists, who are gallery members, have provided new works that will be on display.

The weather co-operated July 24 for Radisson's Show and Shine along Main St. On a sunny afternoon, 78 vintage cars and trucks, 15 vintage snowmobiles and three motorcycles were on display.

Are we into the dog days of summer? How things change. First it was too cold and too dry (here anyway), then too cool and too wet and then too cool at night and too windy. Now we are to have 30-degree days.

The Communities in Bloom committee held their Residential Garden Tour July 21, with 35 people registering for the tour. Refreshments and gardening tips were offered by each of the hosts.

Welcome Ted and Anita Klassen, who moved into the home of Darelle and Saskia, and to Jerry Moore and his family, who moved into Helen Muriel's home. Aaron and Kendra and their daughter will be living in AJ's house.

Children's entertainers Sandy and Lee Paley made a stop in North Battleford last week when they put on a show for children and families gathered at Central Park near the library.
