As a reporter, I get to do something new every day, whether it is covering the news in court, being at a political event, touring a new power plant being built or covering a fire. July 22, I did something extraordinarily different.

The Chapel Gallery is proud to host "Field Day" - an exhibition of the work of Augustus Kenderdine. The collection of 19 landscape pieces includes works using watercolour, oil and charcoal.

In 1991 the Ness Creek Music festival was held over two days, had seven bands and only 200 people. In 1989 and 1990 an ecological fair was held near today's festival site. This year the Ness Creek Music Festival marked two decades.

Chris Hodge, a transplant from Ontario, uses acrylics, watercolours, metal sculpture and mixed media to interpret the prairie landscape. He sees a depth in the simplicity of the landscape and uses various methods to recreate this view in his work.

After three and a half years of drafts, edits, and doubts, the result of these frustrations has been printed, bound, and shipped to book stores.
