The Liberals have brought out the heavy-hitters in their party in their bid to get leader Ryan Bater elected in the Battlefords. Friday the party welcomed one of its former leaders, Ralph Goodale, to the Battlefords.

Ryan Bater, leader of the Saskatchewan Liberals and candidate in the Battlefords says he will vote today at the advance poll in North Battleford when the polls open at 3 p.m. "I'm proud to lead by example and vote at the first opportunity.

Incumbent premier of Saskatchewan Brad Wall was in Humboldt on October 21, as part of his leader's tour across the province. His tour started in Esterhazy at 10 a.m., followed by a stop in Lanigan at 2:30 p.m.

Jason Toovey, WPD Ambulance operations manager, is warning drivers that this morning's snowfall is creating slippery conditions on area highways.

Highway 16 through Lloydminster from 40th Avenue to the Husky Upgrader closed at 7 a.m. today as Canadian Pacific crews begin repairs to a damaged overpass. The work is expected to be completed today.

The candidates running in the Battlefords all plan to keep campaigning up until the Nov. 7 vote.

Access Communications Co-operative will head to the streets on Halloween night to conduct their annual children's safety program - the Pumpkin Patrol. 2011 marks the 14th year for the program. From 6 to 9 p.m.
