The Humboldt Curling Club was busy with provincial qualifiers again this weekend. After the men came through last weekend it was the ladies turn from Jan. 15-17.

The community of Wadena was in the spotlight after winning the right to host Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

Layne Young proved to be the hero in overtime. The rookie sprung himself for a breakaway before going forehand-backhand, beating Jack Burgart and completing the comeback for the North Stars, 3-2.

A pair of goals from Dustin Gorgi and Braydon Buziak led the way to a 5-1 victory Wednesday night at the Civic Centre. These two teams last clashed in Pinehouse, where the Battlefords were victorious in a 1-0 game.

There are certain things that Blue Jays fans will remember for the rest of their life. For many, the 2015 season was a first-hand glimpse of baseball played at the highest level.

Rocks were flying all over the ice at the Humboldt Curling Club from Jan. 8-10 as the Goldline Saskatchewan Players Championship came to town. The Bonspiel hosted teams ranked 2 through 17 in the province.

It was a busy week on the ice for the Humboldt Broncos with three games but an even busier week off of it. With the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) trade deadline approaching on Jan. 10, the Broncos were busy making changes to their team.
