Evidently the 14U Barons have a talented team, look no further than their matchup against the second place Humboldt Broncos Sunday afternoon.

The Battleford seniors started their SPHL season on the wrong foot Saturday night. After a successful 2014-2015 campaign where they won 12 of 18 games, the Blues lost their opener to the Hafford Hawks , 8-4.

The Stars played their second of back-to-back games Sunday afternoon in Notre Dame . After dropping their first tilt to the Argos , the Hounds got the best of them today, 3-2.

The Battlefords are missing the Civic Centre , dropping five of seven games on the road this month. The latest loss came to the Notre Dame Argos by a score of 6-2. Artem Chupin of the Argos kicked off the scoring three minutes into the tilt.

Flin Flon may be the last place team in the Sherwood Division, but the top team in the SJHL has had some difficulties with them, especially at the Whitney Forum .

The Meota Combines took to the ice last night against the Edam Three Stars for their first game of the SPHL season, winning 7-6 despite a late surge.

Last time the North Stars travelled to Flin Flon they found themselves on the wrong end of an 8-4 landslide.

The North Stars have come together with local RCMP to initiate awareness for drug and gang related lifestyles. They will be contributing to youth education in the Battlefords and surrounding communities for Project Forecheck .
