Members of the Battlefords Sailing Club enjoyed the home-lake advantage at last weekend's annual regatta.

The New Horizons were back on the course Monday after playing the previous Tuesday. Herman Friesen led his group to a one under par and first place. With him were Lori Stark, Ralph Soiseth and Ken Holiday.

From hockey straight to baseball for Battlefords athlete Keanu Foulds. He joined forces with the Goodfish Lake Hawks for the Alberta Mosquito Provincial Baseball Championships, and won a silver medal. The tournament was spread over three weekends.

The North Battleford Beavers were within three outs of their 2013 season coming to an end at the hands of the Border City Blue Jays.

There are three new adventures waiting for patrons at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre - and they are included with the regular admission.

There was top-notch competition on hand at the Battlefords Sailing Club on Jackfish Lake for their annual Regatta on July 27 and 28.

Bill Sittler from Wilkie will be inducted into the individual category of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, as a player/builder Aug. 17. Sittler was born May 15, 1955 to Norbert and Geraldine Sittler, and he was raised on a farm near Leipzig.

The Moose Jaw Regals baseball team will be inducted into the team category of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame Aug. 17. The Moose Jaw Regals won the Southern Saskatchewan League championship eight times from 1960 to 1975.

Wayne Pusch from Regina Beach will be inducted into the individual category of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, as a player and builder, Aug. 17.

The North Battleford Beavers were up against strong teams in the Bantam AA Provincial tournament over the weekend. The boys had the tournament's two best teams in their pool, which contributed to their 1-2 finish.
