Due to the slow spring melt, the City of North Battleford has placed a ban on use of City sports fields and ball diamonds.

The Lashburn Curling Club is set to host the first Prairie Bog Jog, a 5 km course set up with a variety of challenging obstacles designed to provide participants an afternoon of fun.

April 18 1981 - Pawtucket and Rochester start a 33-inning minor league baseball game. It is the longest professional game at eight hours and 25 minutes. Pawtucket won the game 3-2.

The Junior Bruno Axemen participated in the 2013 Juvenile Broomball Nationals, placing eight of 10 overall. The Bruno boys' broomball team travelled to Cornwall, Ontario, from April 3-6 after qualifying at Provincials on March 2.
