Many of the players on the West Central Wheat Kings female midget roster knew that this season had the potential to be special. The core group of players won a league title two seasons ago and they were looking to do that and more this season.

They lost one game, but didn't allow a tie The Humboldt Broncos went north to Flin Flon for Games 3 and 4 of the Northern Conference final on March 26-27. Up 2-0 in the series, the Broncos had to win both games to clinch it in four.

The Humboldt Broncos have done it again. The class of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League have earned a berth in the league's Canalta Cup final after a 4-1 series win over the Flin Flon Bombers.

Futuristic Industries held their annual curling bonspiel for their clients with volunteers and members of the Humboldt Seniors' Club on March 21 at the Humboldt Curling Club.

Eight young men who live and breathe soccer have taken their game to the world stage in Regina.

Once again, they took it in five. The Humboldt Broncos finished their Northern Conference final series against the Flin Flon Bombers with a 2-1 win in Game 5 on March 29. Like all games in this series, the last was close.

The competition part of the 2012-13 Saskatchewan Cheerleading Association season came to an end March 23 and 24 with the provincial competition.

In his final season with the Battlefords North Stars Blake Tatchell won the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Most Valuable Player Award. Tatchell was also the North Stars' MVP last season and he now has another MVP award to add to his trophy case.

On his own territory, at Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre, Matthew Hudec finished first in the youth men biathlon at the Western Canadian Championships.
